Description

The Word Trainer is a new sub-template allowing learners to match professional language to relevant concepts. It has been developed as a simplified sub-template for NT2 (Dutch as a second language) learners to practice words and concepts in a systematic way. The word trainer exercises created with this sub-template are accessible via laptop and smartphone, so that language practice can be undertaken anywhere.

The sub-template contains a limited number of pages in combination with some specifically created plugins to create a simple and modern activity type. Adjustments have also been made to the text editor to make the Word Trainer as easy as possible for authors to build their activities.

The Word Trainer/ NT2 sub-template contains the following pages:

• Home page (based on a custom Text page)
• Video page
• Multiple choice question page (with 3 question types that each have their own layout)
• Flash cards
• Encouragement page (based on a custom Title page)
• Results page

Furthermore, various buttons have been added at the bottom of the page:

• Home - takes the user to a page of their choice
• Colofon - shows the colofon (e.g. credits) in a lightbox
• Word list - shows the word list in a lightbox
• This sub-template and the plugins are openly shared
