Welcome Back!
For many the new academic year begins soon, and now is the perfect time to revisit your Xerte toolkit and explore fresh ways to enhance your digital learning content. Whether you're updating existing learning objects or planning new ones, Xerte offers a flexible and accessible platform to support your teaching goals.
What You Could Be Doing with Xerte Right Now?
Refresh induction and onboarding materials
Update your student induction resources with interactive maps, welcome videos, and embedded guidance. Xerte’s branching and navigation features make it easy to personalise content for different cohorts
Build new learning objects for this term
Use your favourite templates to create engaging modules with quizzes, drag-and-drop activities, and multimedia. Consider using the Decision Tree or Interactive Text pages to encourage critical thinking and active learning.
Reuse and remix existing projects
Don’t start from scratch—duplicate and adapt last year’s content to save time. You can also collaborate with colleagues to share and remix learning objects across departments.
Track engagement with xAPI and SCORM
If you're using a VLE like Moodle, Blackboard or Canvas, take advantage of Xerte’s export options to track learner progress and engagement. This is especially useful for formative assessments and flipped learning activities.
Empower students as content creators
Encourage students to use Xerte for digital storytelling, presentations, or reflective portfolios. It’s a great way to build digital literacy and give learners ownership of their learning journey.
Explore new features and templates
If you haven’t checked recently, there may be new page types or updates to existing ones. Take a moment to explore what’s new and experiment with layouts, accessibility options, and media integrations.
Share your work with the community
Consider contributing to the Xerte community by sharing examples, tips, or even templates. It’s a great way to inspire others and learn from fellow educators.
