Xerte Server placement

Hello,

If an external user connects to our web facing moodle install and wishes to view the Xerte content, where is the best placement for the Xerte toolkits server?
At present our Xerte server is on another firewall protected subnet, which is fine for internal users but surely an external user cannot connect to this link?
Does the moodle server present this link to the external user or is it proxied in some way?

Ehmm, the external facing moodle would not be enough.
Xerte/XOT should be externally visible as well.

Yes, that would be the most logical thing to do (in a folder within the moodle install)
