Xerte Integration with Sharepoint

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone could help. I would like to know if Xerte can be integrated with Sharepoint, the uni uses it as a VLE and would be a great asset if we can start using Xerte.

At the most basic level of integration whatever you create in an XOT installation can be hyperlinked within Sherepoint content or where iFrame code is allowed embedded too. Likewise if your SharePoint setup allows import of SCORM content or uploading and extracting standard zip archives then that should also work.

If you mean database integration at the moment XOT only works with MySQL and won't work with the current code base with MSSQL.

If you mean authentication integration there isn't an out of the box solution but it should be possible to enable this with some customisation.

Another question regarding Xerte, how can I download the full toolkit and work with it? Also if I add links within sharepoint and when students are accessing it would they be requiring Xerte or it should work fine.

You can download XOT from this site - linked from the homepage.
You have to install that on a webserver with PHP and MySQL
You then author learning objects, make them public so that you have a link or embed code that you can add to SharePoint. Students would only need a modern web browser to view the LO's.
