Xerte Authentication

We are experiencing difficulty trying to setup another authentication method other than guest.

LDAP would suit us the best but we are experiencing the issue explained in the link below:

The patch would appear to solve the issue but I am unaware of how to apply this patch.

Manual authentication would be fine also, but changing the authentication to this method does not enable us to enter any details in the management.php login. The users tab contains one guest entry only.

Finaly, when i change to 'static' and alter the contents of the static file, the login page is a completely blank screen.

These issues remain after a rebuild and using either XamPP or WAMP.

- LDAP: I'll check, but the patch should be in v2 already./ Will follow up on that.
- The only auth method that allows user management through management.php is Db
- When using static, and the page goes all whit, yoy probably have a typo in the static page.

Given al this, I recommend 'Db' as the way forward. In the meantime, I'll try to verify that the patch is in v2.

I've managed to get LDAP working by re-installing and adding the LDAP entries as part of the installation. This created my database LDAP entries which i could adjust to suit via PHPmyadmin instead of using the management.php (which saved but did not update)

The LDAP entries in the toolkits guide were a little unclear also, i used the coding notes in the ldap.php file to find my suitable entries.

On another note, i got the static file working but the DB authentication method still did not enable me to enter any details in the management.php login. The users tab contains one guest entry only.

I still need to double-check the patch.

What version are you using (You say Db isn't working, and I want to know why...)?
You can get the version from version.txt in the installation folder.

If the user table was created before the R913/4 patch was applied then the iduser field needs to have AUTO_INCREMENT set using phpmyadmin or something else otherwise you receive an error...

If user table is empty then the easiest way to fix the user table is to delete it and let XOT put it back correctly but again this depends on having a system that was updated after May 17th...

Check /version.txt to see what revision your system is at and if below r914 then its probably recommended to upgrade to latest, backing up first though in case something unforeseen happens...
