Hi, we have installed Tsugi on our test instance of Xerte. However, we are not sure whether it is an issue as a result of the recent upgrade to 3.10.5 or to do with the install of Tsugi, but the xAPI dashboard appears to be polling and not loading.

Also, we have not completed the xAPI endpoint, key and secret in the xAPI settings. I assume the key and secret can be anything, but should the endpoint URL be our Xerte URL? Should the "xAPI dashoard URLs to show (seperated by commas)" field be populated as well?

Many thanks,

Ross

Hi
you've mentioned installing Tsugi but not anything about an LRS? Tsugi provides the LTI functionality but you can't use xAPI without an LRS also being configured.
You can use LTI on it's own to restrict access to resources via a VLE and to get grades in the VLE gradebook but you can't use the xAPI link or dashboards without integration with an LRS.

Thank you for your reply Ron. I've just located Tom's LTI, xAPI & Xerte video so I'll take a look to begin with.

With regards to Tsugi, where would I find the globally configured keys and secrets? Is this set somewhere in tsugi config?

Many thanks,

Ross

Hi Ross,

In the tsugi admin panel->tenant keys (normally htpps://<your xerte url>/tsugi/admin). Just create a new key/secret and use that.

Password to the admin panel is configured in your tsugi/config.php

You only need to do that for LTI1.1 connection. For LTI1.3 connections you need to setup a LTI1.3 issuer, which can be very tricky to do. Once that is set up, you don't need any key/secret anymore.

Many thanks for the information Tom, I found Tenant Keys within Manage Keys. However, I am currently receiving error 404 for both Tenant Keys and LTI 1.3 Issuer. Is there something else I need to update first? I'm still using Tsugi in developer mode.

Regards,

Ross

Developer mode or not is not that important. It just adds extra items in the user interface. It should not influence the functioning in any way.

Where do you get the 404 error? When you try to do something in TSUGI? When you try to use an LTI object?
