Dear Elly

Did you get a solution to your problem with Gap-fill in Xerte? I am experiencing the same problem, and also something similar with the Interactive Text page type. I work in language learning, where gap-fill is a very commonly used task type.

Best wishes

Dear Inge

Did you come up with a solution to the problems that Elly reported? I am having the same issues - I posted on this in a separate Topic in the Bugs and Issues area. I am desperate for a solution, as we really need to produce a lot of Xerte for summer Pre-sessional English language courses,

No. A few years ago they said: we will look into that.
But in all the releases after that the problem never went away completely. It changed a bit but is still quite annoying.

Hi Jonathan,

As developers we're looking into the best way how to fix these issues. Part of the issues (the feedback showing) is a consequance of choices made to enable tracking. When you navigate to the next page, the submit button is automatically triggered to make sure the answers are regsitered.

Obviously the deadlock sitiation is a bug. We're working on that as well.

Hi Tom

Thank you very much for your rapid response. Is there any kind of workaround? We are mainly interested in Xerte's formative potential, so we don't always have to track student usage and performance. I tried No Tracking in the Optional Properties for the whole project and that didn't work.

Best wishes

Jonathan

Not really, Tracking is always enabled (if only for the results page).
