Drawing editor do not import images

Hi,

I am having problems with the Drawing editor tool of XOT: I cannot work with any image using its Import Image button. A dialog window opens, I select the image file, but then nothing happens. I can activate other buttons on this tool but there is no image imported.

It is a light jpg image (~100k), I am using Firefox 2.7, Ubuntu 12.04, and XOT 2.0. I can upload images using other XOT tools like, for example, "Graphics and Sound". And there is no error log, so I am asking you for guidance.

If you use chrome it will work. We had some issues uploading media from FF last year, and fixed them, but must have missed this bit - thanks for flagging it up.

I realized problem was fixed for FF too now that I upgraded to XOT 2.1. Great

I was wrong. It works on Firefox if the image has been previously loaded on the template.

For example: On Drawing tool, I "Import Image" and select "MyPhoto.jpg". Nothing happens. Instead of that, I first add the optional property "Media Image" to my template, selecting "MyPhoto.jpg". Now I have this image loaded on my media files. Then I return to the Drawing tool, I "Import Image" and select "MyPhoto.jpg" from my filesystem as before, and now works properly. I suppose problem was the image never upload to server, and now that the image was uploaded before, with the very same name, the drawing tool is able to load it on the editor.

Yes I suspect it is related to the Flash cookie bug. Flash in Firefox doesn't pass the session cookie with the upload and thus the server ignores it...

You can also upload the file by selecting the LO, clicking Properties button and then going to the Media and Quota tab. Then go back to the Drawing page and attach it again there to get the correct path/filename. Not elegant but a workaround just now.

We are working on a new editor that is all HTML and Javascript based but we will look into patching this in the interim.
