I know this maybe simple but we have just created an install of XOT 1.9 and for some reason cannot display images.

In the image field we select an image, it appears to upload, we get the message

FileLocation + 'media/portfolio.jpg'

Then when we use preview button we get the message
You must select media before you can view it

Can anyone help?

John

It's working for me.

Please try the following. In the XOT workspace, choose this particular Lerning Object, and choose properties. On the properties page, choose the Media and Quota tab. Is the file you are not able to preview visisble there?

If not, how big is this file?

Hi

We've just started using XOT1.9 and had the same problem. Graphic and sound files do not appear in 'media and quota' although they are small.

If I upload the file via 'media and quota' then it starts to work but a normal upload via the upload media button in insert/media/graphics and sound just doesn't work (graphic doesn't display)

Any advice would be most appreciated

ian

In Safari 6.0.5 , the images are uploaded but unfortunately not shown. We have shared the learningobject and display the learningobject on a Windows pc with firefox. Then the images are shown correctly.

Hi Katrien,

I think I have now got to the bottom of this bug and have produced a patch. It would be great if you were able to test this for me.

Inside the attached zip is a folder called 'modules' with other files/folders inside. If you unzip and drop the 'modules' folder into the root of your install (there will already be a folder there called 'modules' - just grant permissions to overwrite and the problematic files will be replaced.

Then you will need to clear your browser cache. You do this by selecting Safari, clicking on 'Safari' on the top menu and selecting the option that mentions cache (Clear cache or empty cache or similar).

Then simply go to your xerte install, login and see if uploading media from within Safari now works.

Let me know how it goes!

Regards,

John

Hi John,
I think I had the same problem and Tom was able to help me, this is what he found:
media folders were not being created in the new project folder when creating new projects.
Look in the USER-FILES folder and find your new project. Look to see if a media folder is created in your new project folder. If it's missing try adding an empty media folder and go back and try to upload your media again. If this solves your problem look to see if the media folder is listed in:
<Your Site>/modules/site/templates/site/
<Your Site>/modules/xerte/templates/Nottingham/
If its not there, add it. It must be present there to add it when creating new projects. Go back and create a new project again and the media folder should be added to your new project.
Hope this helps, it worked for me
Mark
