export of LO failed

Dear Xerte Community
We would like to export LOs from v.1.8 to v2.1.
This worked fine for most LOs but some of them did not export, despite testing in different browsers: IE11, Chrome 42 and Firefox 31.

When clicking on Properties > Export > Get Deployment Zip, I only get an empty screen
The LO in questions is using the following pages:
Interactive Diagram, Graphic and Sound, Quiz, Text Bullets

Did anybody in here come across a similar issue and were you able to solve it. The LOs in question are quite sophisticated and may take a long time to re-create.

The most obvious reason, why it works for some, and not for others that I can think of is that the packages that do not work are too large.

Can you look at the webserver logs and see if you have errors in there?

We checked the webserver logs and it suggests that the problem is caused by ampersand characters in the content and possibly other non-standard characters (such as ‘smart’ quotes from MS Word). We will now try editing out any ampersands, replacing with ‘and’ and delete any other non-standard characters, and see if it makes any difference.
