Hi, I am trying to do a clean install of Xerte 3.6 and I am receiving an error while creating DB on server.
I tried creating MySql user and empty DB before installing but with no result.
The error I receive is:
SQLSTATE[HY000] [2003] Can't connect to MySQL server on '127.0.0.1' (111)
if I set "localhost" as Database host and:
SQLSTATE[28000] [1045] Access denied for user 'XXXXX'@'YYYYY' (using password: YES)
if I set the IP of the server as Database Host; XXXXX is the user that EXISTS in Mysql and YYYYY is the FQD name of the server (in private VPN).
All ports are open through firewall, server is Ubuntu 12.04 and client is Ubuntu 16.04 using Firefox.
I had previously installed XERTE 2.1 some years ago with no problem on same server, and new installation is on a different directory and a different DB.
Thanks in advance for answers
Dino

Hi, Dino.

Just a thought...has your user XXXXX been granted privileges on the database you're trying to connect to? I usually get that "Access denied for user" error if I've forgotten to grant privileges.

Hi Tom,
thank you for answering.
Yes, user XXXXX has full privileges on database.
Anyway I get same errors even if I try to perform installation using Mysql root credentials.
I suspect there must be some configuration issue, but I can't figure out which one.

Hi,
I tried installing on a different server equipped with Ubuntu 16.04, and it installed with no hassle.
I suppose there was some issue with the old Ubuntu 12.04 (different web root directory or so on), even if the installing procedure found no problem.
Any way, problem solved for me (I edited the original post with the tag "Solved").
bye
