Video - help please! was created by AlStanding
Hi - I have been using Xerte for a while now and have started to use HTML coding to make so unique LOs. However, I am really struggling with the video page. I can't get them to work! I am using HTML version and the advise I been given is that the files should be .mp4, but they don't work. I have tried .flv too, while the first video plays and the preview plays, the other videos on the page won't load in this format.

Can someone please tell me what format the videos should be upload in?

Many thanks,
Al

Hi
what page type are you using here? Can you share a link to an example or if not then screenshots?
mp4's encoded to H.264 should be fine but as a general tip make sure there are no spaces in filenames and I usually recommend all lowercase too. That's unlikely to be the problem here but can be.
Also you've reminded me to contact Jason off-list - I suspect your installation could do with updating although again that probably isn't the cause of your problem here.

Hi Ron,

Thanks for such a prompt reply - I am getting somewhat frustrated :-(

I am using the video page type. File names have no spaces, I do have some capitals in there. I will try renaming.

It does seem very strange - I very much suspect user error! I work with Jason now, I will see him in the office tomorrow and will let him know.

Thanks again.

Actually that's the multiple perspectives page type rather than the single video page type but should still work. I can't remember if there were any changes to that page type since whatever revision you are currently using but if you can't get it working get Jason to contact me offlist.
Regards
Ron

Also post back here if changing the capitals changes anything?
